What to write about?

I have an online course that I offer exclusively on book writing University coming up in the next few weeks it’s my Authorpreneur Master Class.

If you ever thought about writing a book and want to get it done quickly then you should consider taking my Authorpreneur master class. You will get a very specific road map for getting your book done simply by completing an exercise that only takes about an hour a day.

I want to give some tips on figuring out what you should write about.

When it comes to writing non-fiction the best method is to go with a subject you are very knowledgeable and are passionate about.  This way you will be both engaging and authentic. As a non-fiction author, people expect truth, either from your experience or knowledge so you need to write with authority on your subject matter.

Your non-fiction book can help to position you as an expert in your field, open doors in your career including speaking engagements, as well as gain you more clients, so choose a topic that you want to be associated with now and in the future, rather than a past endeavor that is no longer relevant.

When you begin to gather information, you want to answer these questions.

  • Do you have all of the information you need to write your book?
  • Do you have solid examples and/or experiences that explain and back up each of your book points?
  • If not, what pieces are you missing?
  • Where will you find the missing pieces?
  • Is there any area that you’re unclear on?

Once you have all of the answers to these questions, you will be able to begin writing your book.
