I want to talk to you about having a plan for your book and I’m gonna provide you with a couple of goals you could focus on as an author.
1. Have a set time to work on your book every day.
It is very important to set a specific time for writing every day. In many cases, it does not have to be more than an hour or so. The important thing to remember is not to try to find time to write but to actually make time to write. Make it a priority if you are serious about being an author. If you’re a morning person like me get up an extra hour earlier to write or stay up an extra hour at night for writing. Just set a time that works for you and shut your phone off or any other distractions so you can focus.
2. Choose a unique place to write
This is just as important as setting a specific time. It’s important to choose a special place where you go just for writing if that is possible. That way you know when you go to that place you know you are there to write.
3. Stay accountable
This is where having a book coach is really helpful. Much like having a personal trainer for fitness a book coach becomes your accountability partner. For some of us it helps us get things done when we know we have to turn something in or finish it by a certain day and time. Not having an accountability partner can sometimes lead to slacking off and you don’t want that.
Make sure you are Setting a specific page or word count daily for your writing. Its very important to Give yourself weekly deadlines. Remember what gets measured gets done.
4. Get feedback early and often
It is also important to share your work with someone you are comfortable with so that you can get an idea of how your writing is going. Often times another person can pick up things in your writing that you may have overlooked. Another reason why a book coach is a good thing to have.
5 Stay motivated
Writing a book is not always an easy thing to do but if you stay focused and stay motivated to complete your book you will be glad you did.
After reading these goals and tips do you think this is something you are capable of dong?If you are interested in writing a book and want to get it done quickly then you should consider taking my Authorpreneur master class.
